I know I am sending this after 20 days of the actual event time, but my knowledge that culture, music and art never age :) made me cross the barrier of time...

Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyah organized the event that took place in Al-Midan cultural center as a part of the 13th cultural season events. Al-Maraqi means the stairs in the old Kuwaiti accent, and they are called so coming from the arabic word "Ruqei" meaning going higher and in a more common use can be translated to "Sophistication" in the sense of one adding more to him self. Al-Maraqi is meant to mix the past with the present literally and musically.

He started playing his fluent easy music that stepped into my heart, the rhythm along with the instruments composed a state of peace and joy like no other. Suliman Al-Dikan, son of Ghannam Al-Dikan the famous Kuwaiti music composer who composed the national anthem has inherited and exceeded the talent of his father and re-defined Kuwaiti modern music, he stands almost alone in that, I love that as original and authentic his music pieces are, they are performed by instruments from all over the world and not original Kuwaiti instruments only.

The evening started with a lovely piece called “Prelude Henda” : Sailors voices intermingling, and then the program went on, at times he left the stage to let the musicians perform either solo or play a renewed piece for famous kuwaiti musicians.

Although I was very tired the day before and had a long day, but I definitely enjoyed my night out with the genuine Kuwaiti music mixed with western instruments and eastern ones as well, he incorporated that mix to give us pieces filled with passion, joy and art. The last piece in the concert called “Helwat El-Leban” an expression that refers to the mother and its famous in the Gulf region and in Kuwait, it literally means “she, with the sweet milk” and that comes form the fact that a mother feeds her kids her milk when they are young, so every one go tell your mother I love you “Helwat El-Leban” :}

With Helwat El-Leban I end my post, wishing this small artistic event to reoccur in Kuwait on a wider scale, art is a form of community and culture growth, lets not keep it quiet.

About Salloumi:
Salloumi.com founded in March, 2008 by a group of Kuwaiti users. It serves users globally to upload their videos and share them with other people accessing the same website. It also provides the ability to embed videos from other websites using a HTML embedding code so people of certain websites can view our videos.

In order to globalize and activate the website's hits by users, a mailing list was created using one of the most sophisticated mailing list systems. A user is allowed to subscribe to or unsubscribe from our mailing list which publishes daily forwardable e-mail letters containing pictures, videos, or recent topics. Yet, our mailing list reached the number of 24,000 e-mail addresses. Most of them are of Arabic users.

Points to Be Targeted:
Salloumi staff aims to achieve the good reputation through the G.C.C countries. Accordingly, the website was managed to serve up to 5,000 users streaming videos at a given time. Therefore, the staff had to get a single powerful server, at the mean time, to achieve a high performance and a good availability to the users.

its been a long week, been through a lot and have a lot to deal with this week, on the top is the new proposed work plan.

facebook is seeming to be meaningless by the day, i will stay for the mean time for the news about events around, the groups over there are very useful, what if we can do that for blogs? i have the idea of this website that groups from all sorts are gathered in, they publish their news and you subscribe to them! without the need to go to a site that keeps wanting to know who you are and tell the whole world with what it knew :)

flixter the movie application in facebook, i'm still looking for a way to get it into my blog i saved a lot of information about the movies i have seen

i need a vacation, yet i do have this new thing to implement, the preparation stage followed by implementation will take 4 weeks min., i think i will try to postpone the vacation plan to later.

في بداية الأمر قررت اني اطلب منه لانه كان قريب و قلت زلقة بطيحة! خل اخذ جرعة فلافل بطاط، و بالفعل وقفت عند المطعم المطل على شارع سالم المبارك مباشراً و يم مجمع مريم، و على الرغم من انه اكو داعوس بين مجمع المطعم و مجمع مريم لكن فضلت اني اغامر و اعيش تجربة الفلافل بطاط الكويتية الحقيقية و اسفط على الشارع العام!! و بدون فلشر "يعني قوية" بس بعدين راحت السيارة اللي وراي و خفت على سيارتي ، شبيته.

و وصل الجارسون و قلت له ابي فلافل بطاط لو سمحت

الجرسون: عاوزاها بحوموص ولا طحينة يافندم

انا: *في حيرة من امري بس قررت اني اخذها اوريجنال* لاء لو سمحت ابيها بطحينة و سلطة، و لو سمحت عطني درزن فلافل

علشان اعاين الفلافل صح

و بعد ربع سااااعه وصل الطلب

و بسرررعة بطلت الصمونة بالسيارة طبعاً علشان اكلها صح على الطريقة الكويتية الخيشية شكل الصمونة كان دائري و صدمني هذا الشي! انا توقعت صمونة طوالية! مو دائرية بس حسيت انه تغيير حلو

و بالداخل كانت المكونات ، و الصورة الفنية خذيتها بمساندة اختي، و ترددت اني انشرها بس حسيتها معبرة عن المكونات الحقيقية بشكل صريح وتقدرون تشوفون ان البطاط فاتح و مو مقلي حيل و هذي الطريقة اللي يتميز فيها هالمطعم و فلافله خفيفة وفاتحة

وقررنا نقرم فلفولة علشان نشوفها و نستمتع بطعهما خالي

التقييم

انا شفت ان فلافلهم ماصخة و بهاراتها قليلة، بالإضافة الى ان الجرسون ما تشرشح من شارع لي شارع علشان يوصل لي لان الموقف متاح يمهم، ماكانت الخطورة بالموقف عالية كفاية، فلافلهم اقدر اقول ميديم رير، و البطاط كان فاتح بزود يبيلة قلي، بالنسبة للتقديم كان جيد و لكن الصمونة خلال الاكل سرعان ما نشفت اطرافها، تناقص الاكسجين كان عالي و هذا يحتسب لهم بس مخي ما قفل بعدها!؟ الشئ الذي من شآنه تقليل توافق الصمونة مع ماي ستاندردز

في الأسابيع المقبلة سأقوم بنشر مقالات لاستعراض و تقييم أفضل صمونه فلاف بطاط بالكويت، لما لهذه الصمونه من شعبية في الكويت، و يجب ان لا ننسى أنها الوقود الأساسي لبعض (1) موظفي الحكومة، فلا نستطيع تجاهل ان كمية الدهن التي تحتويه هذه الصمونه (2) و مكوناتها المقلية تساهم في إغلاق الدماغ و إيقافه عن العمل "التغييب بالمصطلح الشعبي"، مما يساهم بشكل أساسي في تقليل الإنتاجية بين الموظفين المتعاطين لها، و يبرز عرض "التغييب" بعد تناول جرعات منتظمة و مشبعة من هذه الصمونه.


مقاييس التقييم

1. 
   الترجال: فكلما زادت قمية الترجال "التعريف تحت - الترجمة لهذا المقياس التشيل آآووتي بايخة" زادت قيمة الصمونه و شعبيتها و إشباعها للفرد



2. 
   درجة قلي الفلفوله: تتدرج ما بين
   فلفوله ول دن : يعني سودا
   فلفوله ميديم ول : يعني شقرا و درجة التحمش متوسطة
   فلفوله ميديم ريير : يعني شقراء المظهر الخارجي و فاتحة اللب
   فلفوله ريير : يعني معلم الفلافل خرطي و ما يعرف يقلي
   
   و بالمثل للبطاط



3. 
   خطورة مكان الطلب: كلما زادت خطورة الموقف علشان توصل للمطعم كل ما زادت أهمية هذا المقياس، و أهميته تتمثل في : تعريض نفسك للخطر – الآخرين للخطر – تعريض الجرسون للحوادث الغير متعمدة نظرا لانه يقف في منتصف الشارع المخصص للسيارات و ليس للبشر – القتل الغير متعمد من تناشب الجراسين حول منو ياخذ طلبك و اخر شي تطلع تبي عصير – طريقة مضمونة للتعرف على بعض الأشخاص اللي عبالهم ان الشارع شارع ابوهم و ان الفلشر يخلي الناس يتفهمون ان عندك حالة جوع طارئة!

   تناقص الأكسجين بالسيارة : فكلما زاد عبق الدهون في السيارة و فاحت ريحة المقالي و قل الأكسجين و انغمت النفس زادت أهمية هذه الصمامين لما
   تملكه من قدره عليه على انك "اتغييب" و أهي بالكيس! فما بالك بالمعدة؟ بالإضافة الى ان تعلق الرائحة بالهدوم و هم بالتكييف "ثاني يوم الصبح اول ما تبطل التكييف تهب عليك ريحة الصمونة" مما يدل على جودة صنعها



5. 
   التقديم: شنو المادة الملفوفة فيها الصمونه، ورق جرايد – بلاستك – هذا الورق الشفاف اللي ايخترش.



6. 
   عدم اضافة المطيبات الجانبية الغير متفق علىها من قبل الشعب بناء على استبيان على كيفي ألفته، فمنهم من يضيف الباذنجان او الزهرة المقلية، و لم يثبت مدى شعبيتهم حتى الآن، حيث ان الطلب على "فلافل بطاط" أكثر من المشكل على سبيل المثال.

نرحب بالمشاركات الخارجية بشرط توفير صمونة للتأكد من تطابق الذوق + الصور + الأمانة في استعراض الرأي + الالتزام بالمقاييس ال6 ولا يسمح الغش و تزريق زهراية و لا باذنجانايه مع الصمونة!؟

و نحو صمونة "الفلافل بطاط" الأمثل بالكويت ،، نسعى

Were not so much of an attraction for me! The following are my favorites from the Fall 2008 Couture show:

Classy, simple, depends totally on the fabric

Ideal for full figured, slim or pregnant women, however one should be careful from the work on the sides, it adds volume

Too formal, yet creative!

Amazing, and if you go and zoom on the crystals attached you will notice that they are CLEAR! a very creative idea to make a piece shine.

Amazing look, do not approach if you are not SLIM, or at least have a slim waist.

Although I did not like the shine of the pink fabric, reminds me of Barbie outfits ;p still the design is pretty nice and fits almost all sizes.

Cute for petite short women, suitable for pregnant too. Reminds me of a gown by Chloe'! shape wise not details that is.

Great for slimming, yellow and silver go along perfect! although I was always with gold and yellow.

Pregnant ladies :D and full ones, since the tight piece on the right side is stretching to the beginning of the waist, giving a more slim look and alluring the look of a full lower body.

The ready to wear had a wider sellection that suited my taste...

Sweet cute retro design, very simple and hip, almost suitable for every one.

A designer is an artist in the end, he might repeat a design every once and a while, I arranged two pieces "yellow and blue one" from the 08 RTW under each other :} they are very similar to this one in his Fall 07 CTR,, as an artist once told me if you like an idea so much you will keep repeating it over and over :)

Reality check:

Simplicity can lead you to stupidity and in many severe cases, abuse! However if you thought of things around you in a simple way, deleted all the un-necessary things, drew a line between what you are and how you relate to things around you, then you might get a peace of mind :)

Blooming for life -ِِ إزرع الأمل

At the Avenues mall 

في مجمع الافنيوز

Starting this week until the 20th of April, buy a flower for 1 KD and it the profit goes to The Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, I got my own tulips :D of course they [KRCS] made a twist! it was supposed to be ONLY Tulips but the actually had a bigger selection of flowers. Not only I got the flowers that I LOVE, not only I got a great booster to my mood, but also the money is going somewhere nice :} it made me smile from the heart, the mall was really blooming! some companies contributed by buying large amount of flowers and plant them in the avenues! how? plastic then some soil and flowers, voila! we got our own indoor spring :}

من الاسبوع الحالي و حتى ال٢٠ من شهر ابريل؛ عندما تشتري زهرة بقيمة دينار كويتي فإن ريعها يعود الى جمعية الهلال الاحمر الكويتي، ، ولكن على الرغم من ان الحدث الاساسي من المفترض ان يشمل فقط ازهار التوليب التي اعشق الا ان الجمعية قد قامت بتغييد جميل في تلك القاعدة و اضافت تشكيلة اكبر من الزهور. لم احصل فقط على تلك الزهود التي احب، ولا دافع عظيم لتحسين مزاجي، بل ان المال المقدم سيـذهب لمكان رائع. ابتسمت من كل قلبي، تفتح المجمع بمعنى الكلمة. بعض الشركات قامت بشراء كميات من الزهور و زينت بها المجمع لتصنع التقنية البسيطة و الحرفية ربيع بداخل ذلك المبنى الصخري الصامت

Walking in the Avenues was a joy, and it did make me feel a lot better, and for the first time since the Avenues opened, I thought seriously about sitting in the coffee shops over looking the inside area of the mall! "not that i NEVER did it ;p but i don't like it!"

التجول في مجمع الافنيوز كان ممتعا بمعنى الكلمة، و احسست بشعور افضل من ذلك اللذي حملت قبل رؤيتي لهذا الربيع، و للمرة الأولى منذ افتتاح هذا المجمع التجاري فكرت بجدية بان اجلس في احد المقاهي المطلة على الممرات الداخلية للمجمع

This is the first post in the series of where am I ,, that no one knew the place I was in :D I'm so happy ;p ,, the place isssss:




Burj Ahmad, located on the gulf road right opposite to Elysium health club, and near that arc like silver colored thing is Dewan Al-Mullah. There is a very quiet Casper & Gambini's that serves almost every thing except for main dishes.

Im not the only one!!!!

Yesterday I received an sms from Aramex telling me that my shipment has arrived, so i went there to pick it up. Two packages as requested, went home acted like a tech. freak getting the HYPE over a new piece of technology :D "well not so new but its new to me" snapping pictures and all, for the packages and unwrapping them. First package was as requested, the softwares are a ok :)



MS Office 08 for mac & iWork

The second package which I kept unwrapping slowly :D and taking pictures all the way since it had تفاحتي المقرومة

I ordered a MacBook [MB403LL/A 13.3" Laptop (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive) White] , since I have a plan to own also other stuff from Apple, I chose this one particularly to start the familiarization stage and begin the shift to mac with and it is:

1- Very affordable.
2- Has specifications that I need and a little more.
2- Storage very convenient since I don't keep much files on the local hard drive, I use an external one for security and backup.
3- Its size is perfect for me, very easy to handle.

Along the unwrapping process I was checking my name all over it, the invoice is correct, right item, correct billed amount, right product description



Holding my breath!!! I was so excited to see this in my own hands :D

and then!!!!



With the hype that hit me I thought naaa this is just an ad for the black! not reading whats posted about the product information, I was in denial actually!



then the reality hit me, I unwrapped it fully to see that I got the MacBook [MB404LL/A 13.3" Laptop (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive) Black] which only differs from the one I ordered with the external color! and the HD is bigger, hence the price difference. I loved the Apple white why would I want a black one! most of the laptops are black/ grey!!!

I was in shock and disappointed, I want my WHITIE :( 160GB not the bigger black one, its a good device but its not what I requested nor paid for, its not right to take something more expensive than the one I paid for. So when I decided to replace it there was a condition that you are obliged to deliver it to Amazon! meaning that I will have to PAY for shipping !!! why??? its their mistake, they want their item they should pay all the fees, however they clearly stated that they would bring the replacement item at no charge from my side! still to get the one i have to them I have to pay! and as I said this morning in "Some Contrast"

So I sent an e-mail, which they said they wont be able to replace it right now however someone will contact me in 24 hours! I will wait and see.
